Good People
I get a ton of support from members of the Twin Cities cycling community. I'm lucky enough to call these folks friends, and they have helped and encouraged me to start Three Stars. If possible, please give them your business.
Balance Fitness Studio & Balance Cycling
I ride with the Balance Cycling club and workout at Balance Fitness. Balance is the most open and caring community of people I've been involved with since I left college. Constant encouragement, love and motivation. If you're looking for a place to workout, or folks to ride with, ski with, check em out.
Hiawatha Cyclery
Jim and Mark are genius (I'm sure Kevin is too, but I don't know him super well). Two of the nicest folks I've had the pleasure of meeting and asking stupid questions of. Jim is a mechanical genius in his own right. He repaired one of my wheels on a gravel centry last April (in MN!) after I threw a clean canteen between the spokes and the chain stay. I made it the last 30 miles with 35 spokes in my rear wheel. Jim's also great encouragement as he mentions that I should sell all the bikes I have that aren't made by me (as of now my last holdout is a Rivendell Sam Hillborne that you can see at Hiawatha later this year).
Gateway Cycle
Bill is my neighbor as well as friend. Constant great advice, being there for emergency parts and really helping me learn up from down about the bike industry, great guy.
Cars R Coffins
Hurl is, from what I hear the approximate center of the universe, or at least as far as cycling in Minneapolis is concerned. Most of Three Stars scheming and planning was done in CRC (so long old friend) with a cup of coffee and a laptop. Hurl gives great advise and is just a ton of fun to talk to. He's also a fellow gravel racer and Rapha fetishist.
Eriks Bike Shop
More specifically the Roseville store, epically the manager Alex. This is the shop next to my day job, so I tend to pop in for all the cables, tape type purchases that I need last minute. Great folks who love bikes and to share them. They get a bad rap as "The Man's Shop" in the Twin Cities. Hogwash. Nice, honest folks.
j.woodward design
Joel's the salt of the earth. He helps with photo's, web site questions and keeping the wheels on winter fitness by encouraging me to ski. If you need anything designed, web, graphic, physical... go see Joel.
Pallas Athena
Dan's a a great guy who occasional comes and works out of my shop. Dan's one of the most ambitious and risk taking frame builders I've had the pleasure of meeting. From non standard tubes, awesome bends, and theme bikes Dan does some really neat stuff. Also, he builds mountain bikes!
